ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES OF AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

SPECTRA 22

Rohini Association of Agricultural Engineers (RAAE) was inaugurated on 14.09.2022. office bearers were introduced. Association conducted SPECTRA 22 on same date. Dr. Jebamalai vinanchiyarachi- Former principal advisor to the director general of UNIDO was the chief guest. Chief guest gave a talk on "Fostering agribusiness for India's prosperity". His presentation was about contribution of agricultural sector towards GDP. He also stressed the importance of adding value to agricultural products.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO TAMIL NADU AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY (TNAU), COIMBATORE

Industrial visit to Tamil Nadu agricultural University, Coimbatore was made on 23/09/2022 Students visited post-harvest technology lab ,food processing lab, renewable energy lab and farm machineries lab.

Students also visited Orchard of horticulture-where they gained knowledge about fruit and vegetable crops nature and production methods like grafting.

In Farm machineries laboratory faculties explained the various types of cultivators and ploughs that has been used in Agricultural operations

HANDS ON TRAINING OF CROP PRODUCTION IN CONNECTION WITH WORLD STUDENT’S DAY

Training was conducted on 15/10/2022. Training was conducted at Agro farm of Rohini college of engineering and technology, Field preparation process was done followed by installation of drip pipes .Then students planted seeds/saplings in their individual plot. Different types of crops like chili, brinjal, tomato, lady's finger, cluster bean, radish, groundnut were sown in their respective fields and finally watering was given.
