TWO-DAY HANDS-ON WORKSHOP ON TOTAL STATION AND GPS
The Department of Civil Engineering successfully organized a Two-Day Hands-On Workshop on Total Station and GPS on 10.07.2025 & 11.07.2025 is conducted by GIDEON SURVEYING ACADEMY, aimed at enhancing practical knowledge and technical skills in modern surveying instruments among students and professionals.
The workshop was conducted on campus and included both theoretical sessions and intensive field exercises. Participants were introduced to the latest surveying equipment and technologies used in civil engineering practices.
Day 1 Highlights:
- Introduction to surveying fundamentals and the role of modern instruments in civil projects.
- Detailed explanation of the Total Station: components, setup procedures, and operation.
- Field training on angle, distance, and coordinate measurement using Total Station.
- Hands-on experience in traversing and data recording techniques.
Day 2 Highlights:
- Overview of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology and its applications in surveying.
- Practical demonstration on GPS device handling and data acquisition.
- Integration of Total Station and GPS data for geospatial mapping.
- Data processing and interpretation using specialized software tools.
