Three-Day Internship Program on “Design the Web"

The Department of Computer Applications, Rohini College of Engineering and Technology, successfully organized a Three-Day Internship Program titled “Design the Web” exclusively for many students from different nearby Arts and Science Colleges. The internship was completely handled by our department faculty members, with the objective of providing real-time exposure to web designing and enhancing the technical skills of the visiting students. This internship was designed to ensure hands-on learning, allowing students to explore the fundamentals of webpage creation, responsive design methods, and interactive web elements. The sessions were practical, engaging, and tailored to suit beginners as well as intermediate learners.

Day 1 – Introduction to Web Design & HTML Basics
Students were introduced to webpage structures, tags, forms, tables, and the basics of creating a simple webpage layout. Practical activities enabled them to design their first webpage.

Day 2 – CSS Styling & Responsive Design Concepts
Participants learned styling methods using CSS, including colors, borders, layout designing, Flexbox/Grid models, and responsive page development suitable for both mobile and desktop screens.

Day 3 – JavaScript Essentials & Mini Project
The final session focused on JavaScript fundamentals such as variables, functions, DOM manipulation, and adding dynamic behaviors to webpages. Students worked on a mini-project where they built a fully functional webpage using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

The three-day internship program proved to be extremely beneficial and enriching for the many outside college students who eagerly participated. The training improved their web design skills, enhanced their creativity, and enabled them to gain confidence in developing complete webpages independently.

I extend my sincere thanks to all the resource persons from our college for their valuable contributions during the three-day internship program that led to the success of the grant.

The department proudly acknowledges the continuous support and encouragement from the Principal and the Management, which contributed greatly to the successful completion of the program. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the visiting students from various Arts and Science Colleges for their enthusiastic participation  and positive feedback.
