TECHNICAL PRESENTATION ON OVERVIEW OF QUANTUM COMPUTING (2026–2027)
Technical presentation on overview of quantum computing (2026–2027) of the Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) was held on 13 July 2026 at Rohini College of Engineering and Technology.
The Quantum Computing Workshop was successfully organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) on 13th July 2026 (Monday) at the Imperial Hall. The workshop aimed to provide students and faculty members with an in‑depth understanding of quantum computing concepts, applications, and its growing relevance in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
The function was graced by the Honourable Chairman Mr. Neela Marthandan, Respected Pro Chairman , Dr. Neela Vishnu, Esteemed Managing Director Dr. Blessy Geo, and Respected Principal Dr. R. Rajesh, whose continuous encouragement and guidance have motivated the department to achieve excellence in academics and research.
The ceremony commenced with the invocation of the Tamil Thaai Vazhthu. Ms. Bhavya, third year student delivered the welcome address. Followed by, Dr. R. Rajesh, Principal delivered the presidential address, inspiring students to actively participate in association activities and workshops that enhance their professional skills and prepare them for successful careers in AI, ML, and Quantum Computing. The Head of the Department Dr.I. Vallirathi (CSE – AI & ML) formally introduced the resource person, providing a detailed professional profile that highlighted his expertise, research contributions, and industry experience in the domain of Quantum Computing.
The workshop featured an insightful technical presentation by Dr. J. K. Deepak Keynes, Team Manager at Cognizant Technology Solutions, Coimbatore. He provided a comprehensive overview of:
- Fundamentals of Quantum Computing
- Quantum Algorithms and their applications
- Quantum Machine Learning techniques
- Industry use cases and future research directions
His session offered valuable exposure to both theoretical foundations and practical applications, bridging the gap between emerging technology and academic learning.
The department expressed its sincere gratitude to the management, Principal, Head of the Department, faculty members, non‑teaching staff, student office bearers, and all participants for their wholehearted support and cooperation, which contributed to making the workshop a remarkable success.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Sivatharshini, a Third year student. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem. The arrangements for the event were meticulously coordinated by the Faculty Incharge Mrs.S.Devi, Assistant Professor, along with the support of all the faculty members of the department of Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning.
The Quantum Computing Workshop marked a significant step in exposing students and faculty to cutting‑edge technologies. It not only enriched their knowledge but also motivated them to pursue further research and innovation in the domain of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Quantum Computing.
