One Day workshop on "Advanced Driver Assistance System in Automobiles"

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Club, organized a one-day workshop on "Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in Automobiles" on 08 August 2026. The event was conducted under the guidance of the college Chairman Mr. Neela Marthandan, Pro-Chairman Dr. Neela Vishnu, Managing Director Dr. Blessy Geo, and Vice Principal Prof. Jayakumar, who conveyed their best wishes to the participants. The programme commenced with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the presidential address by the Principal, Dr. R. Rajesh. Mr. K. Bharath, a III-year Mechanical Engineering student, welcomed the gathering. The resource person for the event is Mr. K. Rajasuthan, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Rohini College of Engineering and Technology (RCET).

During his technical session, Mr. K. Rajasuthan explained the fundamentals of ADAS, including sensor technologies (Radar, LiDAR, cameras), safety features such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Automatic Emergency Braking, and the integration of AI and IoT in modern vehicles. The session included live simulations, case studies, and interactive Q&A discussions, providing valuable insights into automotive safety systems and autonomous driving technologies. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. J. Arul Asbin, a III-year Mechanical Engineering student. The programme arrangements were efficiently coordinated by the Head of the Department, Dr. S. Kailainathan and the SAE club coordinator, Dr. A. Arul Marcel Moshi (Associate Professor, MECH). The event concluded with the National Anthem.
