MCA-WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION 2025

Rohini College Of Engineering and Technology Date: 7th March

INTRODUCTION

 

The Women's Day celebration at Rohini College Of Engineering and Technology was held on 7th March with great enthusiasm and joy. The event, which started in the afternoon, aimed to honour and appreciate the contributions of women in various fields. It also focused on promoting education, entrepreneurship, and empowerment among students.

INAUGURATION

The celebration began with the lighting of the Kuththu Vilakku, a traditional symbol of wisdom and enlightenment. The ceremony was attended by our esteemed Principal, faculty members, and students.

Competitions and Activities

 

To make the event more engaging, several competitions were organized, allowing students to showcase their talents. The competitions included:

  • Fireless Cooking – Participants displayed their creativity in preparing delicious dishes without using fire.
  • Hackathon – A coding competition that tested students' problem-solving and programming skills. Divya Bharathi B and Nafisha Shamrin M from MCA 1st year won First Prize in the Hackathon, showcasing their exceptional technical and analytical skills.
  • Rangoli – Beautiful and colourful rangoli designs were created, adding vibrancy to the celebration.
  • Mehendi – Students displayed their artistic skills through intricate mehendi designs.

 

  • Hair Dressing – A platform for students to showcase unique and stylish hairdos.

 

  • Face Art – Participants expressed creativity through artistic face paintings.

 

  • On-Stage Events – Various cultural performances and fun activities were conducted to entertain the audience.

 

 

Following the competitions, a guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Subhathra Chelladurai , who inspired the students with her words on women’s empowerment, education, and entrepreneurship. She emphasized the importance of self-confidence, skill development, and leadership in today's world.

Our Principal also addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of education and entrepreneurship for women. The speech encouraged students to dream big and work towards their goals with determination.

CONCLUSION

The event concluded on a positive note, leaving students motivated and inspired. The celebration not only recognized the achievements of women but also encouraged young minds to pursue their aspirations with confidence. The Women's Day event at Rohini College Of Engineering and Technology was truly a memorable and empowering experience for all.
