Guest Lecture on "Digital Twin Technology"
The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a one-day Guest Lecture on "Digital Twin Technology" on 24 July 2026. The event was conducted under the guidance of the college Chairman Mr. Neela Marthandan, Pro-Chairman Dr. Neela Vishnu, Managing Director Dr. Blessy Geo, and Vice Principal Prof. Jayakumar, who conveyed their best wishes to the participants. The programme commenced with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the presidential address by the Principal, Dr. R. Rajesh. Mr. Adithyan, a III-year Mechanical Engineering student, welcomed the gathering. A total of 128 students participated in the programme. Mr. Suren, Assistant Professor, introduced the resource person, Dr. N. Arunachalam, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras.
During his lecture, Dr. Arunachalam explained the fundamentals of Digital Twin Technology, its industrial applications, and its integration with Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), data analytics, predictive maintenance, smart manufacturing, and Industry 4.0. The session was highly informative and interactive, providing valuable insights into emerging manufacturing technologies. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Benith, a III-year Mechanical Engineering student. The programme arrangements were efficiently coordinated by the Head of the Department, Dr. S. Kailainathan, along with the faculty members of the department. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
