Freshers’ Day and Five-Day Induction Programme
On behalf of Rohini College of Engineering and Technology, the Department of Computer Applications conducted a Freshers’ Day and Five-Day Induction Programme for the I MCA students from 27.07.2026 to 31.07.2026, marking a warm and memorable beginning to their postgraduate academic journey. The programme aimed to welcome the newly admitted students and familiarize them with the academic environment, institutional culture, and various opportunities available at the college.
The programme commenced with a Welcome Address by Mrs. Meenakshiammal, Dean – Academic, who extended a warm welcome to the new students and encouraged them to actively participate in academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities. Her inspiring words motivated the students to make the most of their learning opportunities.
The Principal, Dr. R. Rajesh, delivered the Principal’s Address, highlighting the importance of discipline, academic excellence, continuous learning, professional development, and active participation in institutional activities. His valuable guidance encouraged the students to set meaningful goals and work towards achieving excellence in their academic and professional careers.
As part of the programme, the Head of the Department introduced the faculty members and mentors to the I MCA students. The introduction helped the freshers become familiar with the faculty and understand the academic guidance and support available to them throughout their course.
Adding joy and warmth to the occasion, the senior students warmly welcomed the juniors and interacted with them, creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere. The interaction helped the freshers feel comfortable and develop a strong sense of belonging to the department.
The Five-Day Induction Programme, conducted from 27.07.2026 to 31.07.2026, featured a series of informative, interactive, and engaging sessions. Various sessions were handled by resource persons from different academic and professional domains, who shared their valuable knowledge, expertise, and practical insights with the students. The sessions focused on areas such as the academic curriculum, institutional rules and regulations, professional development, communication and soft skills, career opportunities, emerging technologies, student responsibilities, and personality development. The interaction with the resource persons provided the students with valuable exposure and encouraged them to develop confidence, positive attitudes, professional skills, and a strong foundation for their postgraduate studies.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Jenarnanth Pillai, who expressed sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, faculty members, mentors, senior students, and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
We express our sincere gratitude to our Honourable Chairman Sir, Respected Pro-Chairman Sir, Managing Director Mam, and Respected Principal Sir for their continuous encouragement, visionary guidance, and unwavering support in conducting such valuable skill-building and student development programmes. Their constant motivation and commitment to the holistic development of students greatly contributed to the success of the Five-Day Induction Programme.
