The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a Fire Safety Awareness and Hands-on Training Program for II, III, and IV-year students, faculty members and college bus drivers on 29.06.2026 in association with the Kanyakumari Fire and Rescue Station. The program was led by Mr. Suresh Chandrakanth, Station Officer, and Mr. Akilesh Raj, Training Officer, along with their team. They explained the causes of fire accidents, fire safety precautions, and the proper methods of handling emergency situations. The officers demonstrated the operation of different types of fire extinguishers for various classes of fire. Students actively participated in the practical session by operating the extinguishers themselves under expert guidance. The program enhanced students' awareness, confidence, and preparedness in responding to fire emergencies.
