  • DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING - RACE ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION (2026-2027)

    The Inaugural function of Civil Engineering Association, RACE was held on 10th July 2026 at 11.30 a.m. The event was headed by the Chairman Shri. K. Neela Marthandan, Pro Chairman Dr. N. Neela Vishnu, Managing Director Dr. V.M. Blessy Geo and Principal Dr. R. Rajesh. The Chief Guest was Mrs. M. Preethi, Junior Drafting Officer, Highway Construction and Maintenance Department.

    Ms. Nivya from III Year welcomed the gathering. Principal Dr. R. Rajesh delivered the presidential address. Dr. J. Sahaya Ruben, Head of the Department, introduced the newly elected office bearers of RACE for the academic year 2026-2027. Ms. Frehenza from IV Year introduced the Chief Guest and invited her for the guest talk.

    The Chief Guest appreciated the office bearers and motivated the students to explore career opportunities in Civil Engineering in both Government and Private sectors. Principal Dr. R. Rajesh honoured the Chief Guest with a memento. RACE Coordinator Mr. K. Ajan presented the tentative schedule of activities for the academic year. Ms. Nandana Mohan from II Year proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with a group photo session of the newly elected office bearers.

    • Completed B.E. in Civil Engineering from St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering and Technology in 2004.
    • Completed M.E. in Structural Engineering from Annamalai University in 2006.
    • Completed Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Anna University, Chennai in 2016.
    • Published several research articles in reputed journals.
    • Research Areas: Hybrid Concrete, Composite Structures, Fibre Reinforced Polymers (FRP) and Concrete Technology.

    Mr. K. Ajan

    Assistant Professor | Faculty Advisor
    • Completed B.E. in Civil Engineering in 2007.
    • Completed M.E. in Construction Engineering and Management in 2011.
    • Both degrees were obtained from St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering.
    • Currently pursuing Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Anna University, Chennai.
    • Research Area: Composite Fibre Research.
