In fact, we have to say that importance of Cultural and Technical Events in college equals the importance of studies.
Gone are the days when only academic programs were the only activities organised in colleges and all students focused on that. With the changing trend we have noticed a major difference in the field of academics too. Students don’t want to be bookworms; they look for other options that could help them in the future. Realising the importance of it, our college has arranged cultural fest” RIPPLE 2017”. A substantial opportunity provided to students to come up with pool of talent in music, dance, drama, and fashion show. To Spread out the talents of individual students, Rohini College of Engineering and Technology celebrated its cultural fest for two days on 02.02.2017(DJ NIGHT) and 03.02.2017(COLLEGE DAY) at the College Premises.
“Today’s little moments become Tomorrow’s precious memories” …… A rocking DJ Night, packed of thumping music was organised at the college premises on 02.03.2017. As the DJs belted out the latest in EDM and Bollywood, students let their hair down and got grooving, girls and boys alike.
RIPPLE’s next day celebration started at 6.30PM with the lighting of Divine lamp by the Honourable Chairman Shri.K.NeelaMarthandan ,Vice Chairman Dr.N.Mohan Neela Judith, Venerable Managing Director Dr.N.Neela Vishnu, beloved Principal Prof.Subramania Pillai ,Chief Guest Thiru. N. Nagarajan, the special guest Prof.M.T.Cosca. Student Abitha Shameena welcomed the gathering. The function was presided over by the Dignitaries. The Chief Guests Mr.R.Nagarajan(Check his profile), Prof.M.T.Cosca, Director of INCIDE Academy emphasized on the need for better communication skills and to be self-motivated for fulfilling their dreams. All the Heads of the Departments, Staff and Students participated in the function. Beloved Principal Prof.Subramania Pillai presented the Annual Report for the academic year 2016-2017 highlighting the achievements of the students’ academics and co-curricular activities.
The Mechanical Students focussed on developing the cost effective “ Bio-fiber reinforced artificial limb” which was disclosed by Dr. Indhiran, Head, Department of Mechanical. The Special guests Dr.David and Dr.Jeba David who assisted the development were honoured by Managing Director.
Followed by that, the winners of Academic Excellence, Sports, and Cultural events were honoured by respected Managing Director Rashtra Vibusan Dr.N.Neela Vishnu .After the inauguration, the cultural events like Dance, Super actor, Fashion Show, Group Song and Flash Mob were held, which was the feast for the eyes and ears of the students and very much appreciated by each and every one.
The college day was taken to the next level by the arrival of the celebrities Ms. Andrea and Mr. RJ Balaji. Andrea presented a song for the audience which added lights to the show. RJ Balaji’s humorous and intellectual talk counted to the spirit of the celebration. The celebration had a splendid end with the fury of light and muffled noise of fireworks
